How long it has been since YouTube is banned in Pakistan? To be honest; long enough to remember. In two of my posts here I have shown some ways to access the YouTube. But today I have got something better, "the unofficial Pakistani versions of YouTube". These sites can play YouTube videos for you without any lag and you will barely be able to notice the difference between YouTube and these sites.
The Websites
My personal favorite is YTPak. and the reason I like this site is its
- Elegant/Clutter free design
- Video player same as YouTube
- Ability to download videos (*new*)
- Ability to convert videos to mp3 (*new*)
- Quick video preview (*new*)
- Ability to load YouTube comments (soon users will be able to comment on video)
- Ability to Like/Unlike the video
- Related video feature (same as YouTube)
- Ability to keep track of history and liked videos
- You will discover new things as you browse the site for a few minutes.
The other site you can use for the same purpose is Playit.pk . The best part about this site is its url system. If you got a YouTube video link that you want to play, simply remove the youtube.com from the link and change it to playit.pk, You will be redirected to the same video on Playit site. To avoid the manual work of converting the link or finding the same YouTube video on either of the sites, I have created a userscript that will automatically,

- Change all YouTube video links found on a page to YTPak links. All you need is to just click on any ordinary YouTube link and you will be redirected to the same video on YTPak.
- Redirect all YouTube embedded videos to Playit.pk embedded videos (you know how embed works)

Although the script will work automatically, but for some reason if this doesn't happen, press Alt+z to run the script again.
