There are thousands of webpages out there that we probably want to save to read later or for any further use. The browser itself provides a way to do so, save the webpage. These are the most basic and simplistic but not the very best way to save any site. The browser while doing so, will save an html file along with its content folder that sometimes creates a mess on our computer.
Alternatively, we can copy the text and past it in any text editor but still its BORING and LAME. So neither I use these methods nor recommend these to you.
Speaking of saving the webpage, for me it means saving only those things on the page which are necessary or important. I mean do we really need to comments section that is usually larger than the original content or the ads that loads on the side panels? Of course not. Then why do we should save MORE when we need LESS.
So, at the moment if you are thinking that "Yeah! he is right" then scroll down because I got a surprise for you.
Alright! Lets Begin.
>> Install this extension on Chrome. A new button will appear.
>> Now go to the website that you want to save, the right way :)
>> Click on this button and a menu will appear on the left side of the page.
>> Time to remove the unwanted stuff. I have selected Wikipedia and for no reason I want to keep only the title globe.
>> Hover over anything, a red rectangle will appear around that item. Click on it to see the menu, then click on remove or your desired option. Alternatively, press Delete on your keyboard to do so. You can also select multiple items at one time.
>> Remove everything that bothers you. In the end when you have a clean page, click on "save as" from the left menu and choose your file type. It can be .pdf file or .html file.
>> This will take you to the plugin server and will provide you the link to download your file.
And this is how you can save a webpage without any unnecessary item.
Bonus:
You can choose another plugin, called Print Friendly. It does the same and works the same.
And if you like to save the page or part of the page as an image file then try Awesome Screenshot.
